Ribbon Gang worked closely with Spatial Services, AWS, and Deloitte to shape and deliver a compelling communication strategy that showcased how cutting-edge cloud and AI technologies are transforming emergency flood response in NSW. This included consulting on messaging, narrative development, and the delivery of a hero video and campaign content designed to engage public sector leaders and drive digital transformation conversations across government.

The Challenge:

NSW faced a critical need to modernise its emergency response systems after back-to-back flood disasters. Spatial Services needed a strategic way to communicate how new tech—specifically cloud-based mapping and AI—was enabling faster, more effective responses. But the story was complex, involving multiple stakeholders, technical language, and a high-level audience.

We began by consulting with key stakeholders to identify the core transformation story. Through workshops and interviews, we developed a high-level narrative that framed the flooding response as a case study in digital innovation. We used a four-part story arc—The Issue, The Vision, The Solution, The Impact—to bring structure and clarity to complex content.
